KVU Choir History

History

KVU Singers, previously known as Keighley Vocal Union, was founded in 1906. In our early years our main aim was to enter festivals, and indeed the choir enjoyed much success winning prizes across the North of England. However the choir's most famous prize was in 1958 at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Perhaps today we're not quite that competitive, however occasionally we do spread our wings, and are proud to have been the inaugural winners of the Isle of Man Festival of Choirs in 2010.
